Introducing the latest addition to the Forest Fundamentals handmade bushcraft range — the insulated Artisan Bottle Bags. Designed to fit the Grayl GeoPress, UltraPress, and the classic 32oz bottle with nesting cup combo.
High Insulating Properties:
The bags are lined with high GSM English-boiled wool. Even in damp conditions, boiled wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in water without losing any of its insulating properties.
Protects the Grayl’s Water Filters:
Like most hollow fiber membrane filters, the Grayl’s can be damaged by freezing. Expanding ice may rupture the membranes, allowing contaminants through. The boiled wool lining helps insulate and protect the filters.
Keeps Liquids Cool:
When hiking in hot temperatures, it’s easy for your water to become warm. The boiled wool helps keep liquids cooler for longer on the trail.
Hand-Loops Suitable For Gloves:
All sizes feature large handles that are glove-friendly, making it easy to carry and fill bottles without removing them from the bags.
Waxed Canvas Exterior:
Made from 12oz waxed cotton and treated with Martexin Original Wax—a food-grade, non-hazardous blend that creates a highly water-resistant finish and develops a rich patina over time.
Nesting Bags:Designed to accommodate standard 32oz bottles like Nalgene and Pathfinder, with extra room for nesting cups. A drawstring closure secures all components and prevents rattling.
Large Pockets for all Water Essentials:
Our goal with the front pockets was to provide enough space to store all your water essentials—keeping everything in one place, such as a Millbank bag, water purification tablets, and electrolyte tablets or gels.
Belt Carrying Loops:
The bags are easily clipped to your belt, attached to the outside of your pack, or hung up inside your tent or around camp. Each bag also comes with two carabiner clips.
Disclaimers:
Each bag is hand-cut and sewn, so slight variations in size and fit may occur. If the front pockets aren't used, the fit may feel a bit looser. This listing includes the bag only—bottles shown are for display purposes.
What is a Millbank Bag?
A Millbank Bag is a water filtration device, designed to remove detritus including sand, mud, silt, and other suspended particulates from water. Even if there is no waterborne disease present, consuming turbid water can irritate and harm the digestive system.
Why Pair a Millbank Bag with a Water Filter Like the Grayl?
While popular water filters like the Life Straw and Grayl will filter out sediment, doing so significantly
reduces their lifespan by forcing more debris through their filtration systems. By using a Millbank bag first, you reduce strain on your filter, extending its lifespan.
